The artwork has an emphasis on the distortion of figures, resembling the struggle and distress of our inner beings. I am driven to portray the racial and social injustice of our history, to unravel caged emotions and the anguish for change.
There may be scenes of city sings, debris, cracked walls, elements of urban graffiti to inspire the decadence of our modern society, the naked emotions of the poets, the cry of tribal music that sheds light on our broken selves.
I create images that suggest and fulminate movement: compositions that can be viewed and displayed from all angles as a visual counterpoint, like Jazz, music in its quest for interchangeability and interactions.
At times, there are compositions of bodies intertwined in an erotic and sexual connection that evokes an enlightenment through our feelings and physical union.
I intend to break, mix the styles, movements, and techniques to align the subject of each artwork with a unique imaginary and message. To be uncategorized or de-categorize a signature style freed from any link of tradition and identification, but for the artwork itself to be independent of its meaning.
To create Expressionistic figures and layers that reveal the process of the technique, which might trigger an emotion or thought. Lost from the standard of compositions and designs to a brittle emotional tone that might reflect the urban life and its struggles.
The use of a colorful palette combined with a tense, playful, and primitive manner may communicate a sense of inner disturbance and alienation. A visual composition to question and for interpreting our own individaul purpose and perception of realty.
